The base represents a small Hatamoto which includes Commander and guard on horseback followed by a monk on foot with the banner. Comando Sohei 28mm Monaci guerrieri 28mm miniature ikko ikki a cavallo minature 28mm ikko ikki The commander under his monk’s robe he wears samurai armor, the miniature is UESUGI KENSHIN from AW MINIATURES. The miniature did not seem suitable to represent the great Uesugi so I modified it slightly to reuse it in this role. The change involved the lengthening of the short legs which makes the knights of this brand unrealistic and the replacement of the sword with a more defined model from TAG Miniatures. The horse guard has undergone a heavier modification, starting from a Perry miniature I reshaped the head by adding the hood to reconstruct the typical monk robe. Both horses come from the AW MINIATURES kits dedicated to samurai on horseback, in my opinion they are the best horses on the market for this period. The banner holder (Hata-zashi) is a Perry Miniatures piece, on the banner (Mi-Hata) that reads the religious phrase “Advance into the pure land, retire to hell”.
