My name is Eugenio Larosa, and I am an entrepreneur in the IT sector with a passion for history. I was born in Forlì in 1975, and from a young age,

I developed a deep fascination with the past, which led me to the captivating world of historical reenactment in 2000.

Through the association I joined, I had the opportunity to satisfy my curiosity and expand my knowledge of the events and figures that shaped 15th-century Italy.

In 2011, I proudly co-founded the association Famaleonis APS (https://www.famaleonis.com/), of which I am the President.

The association’s main objective is to create cultural and educational activities focused on the second half of the 15th century. Additionally, I have a strong passion for historical wargaming, and I consider myself a competent miniature painter. Before starting any wargame project or even painting a miniature, I conduct thorough historical research on the subject.

This passion has allowed me to meet many fellow history enthusiasts and immerse myself in the world of historical gaming. I currently manage the Wargaming section of the San Marino Game Convention (https://sanmarinogame.com/), an event dedicated to the world of gaming, with a particular emphasis on historical gaming.

I’ve also had the opportunity to publish several expansion modules for HISTORICAL WARGAMES, such as SAMURAI AND ASHIGARU (an addon for LORDS & SERVANTS) and the campaign dedicated to the WAR OF SALT (rules for IMPETUS). Additionally, I created FOR A FEW DICE MORE, a western-style rulebook available for free download in both Italian and English.

In 2023, I had the opportunity to write my first book, Roberto Sanseverino: Condottiero del Rinascimento italiano tra arte militare e politica, published by Chillemi Edizioni (http://www.edizionichillemi.com/). This publication delves into the turbulent military and political career of Roberto Sanseverino, one of the last great condottieri of 15th-century Italy. Later that same year, I decided to share with the public a collection of short stories and sonnets that I’ve written over the years. My book, titled Novelle et Sonetti dal Medioevo. Gurone Piovano Merchatante et Poeta, draws inspiration from a tradition of humorous texts that peaked between the late Middle Ages and the early Renaissance. This work represents an exciting journey into the art of humour, wisdom, and irreverence. It invites readers to explore the past in a completely new, fascinating, and entertaining way, bringing characters from centuries ago back to life through their stories.

Over the years, thanks to my intense research activity, I’ve had the opportunity to work as a historical consultant for public and private organisations, helping to create events and projects aimed at promoting historical heritage. I’ve also contributed to the production of multimedia content, such as films and documentaries, and participated in the development of games and publications.

Since November 2023, I’ve had the privilege of being part of the Deputazione per il Niballo Palio di Faenza. This Deputation acts as a reference authority to ensure the historical and cultural accuracy of the Niballo event, a major event held in Faenza. As a member of this scientific committee, I contribute to maintaining high standards of historical and cultural authenticity at the event.
