In the world of Blood Bowl, a thrilling American football game set in the Warhammer universe, Trolls are revered as the mightiest of the Greenskin races. These formidable Big Guys can be recruited by Goblin and Orc teams, bringing unmatched power and ferocity to the field. Inspired by the game’s rich lore, I embarked on a creative journey to customize and enhance the iconic Troll model from Citadel’s Blood Bowl kit.

The Troll, crafted with meticulous detail by Games Workshop, is a versatile 32mm plastic kit that showcases stunning features such as a bear trap on its foot and even a human helmet repurposed as a knee guard. While the original design portrays the Troll hurling a hapless Goblin clutching a spiked ball towards the End Zone, I wanted to add my own twist to make my Troll truly stand out.

To make my Troll even more unique, I decided to make some modifications to the base kit. Firstly, I removed the Troll’s original arms provided in the kit and replaced them with arms from another Warhammer Fantasy set. Using putty for sculpting, I adapted the arms to seamlessly integrate with the Troll’s body, giving it an even more imposing and menacing look.

In addition to the arms, I further enriched my Troll by incorporating details from sprues of other Warhammer Fantasy kits. The shoulder pads, for example, were added to provide a touch of increased realism and personality to my Troll.

The poor Goblin being squashed by the Troll was created by making some modifications to the model provided in the original kit.

The modification and customization of the Blood Bowl Troll have allowed me to create an even more “badass” and unique version that stands out on the playing field.
