Takeda Shingen 28mm command

Takeda Shingen daimyo of the Takeda clan one of the most influential and combative warlords of the Japanese sengoku period, also known as the “tiger of Kai”.

His real name was “Haronobu” but is better known by the name “Shingen” which he took during his novitiate period as a Buddhist monk, then interrupted to resume command of the clan.

This command base for the Impetus wargame regulation reproduces Takeda Shingen on horseback while giving an order to a messenger (Tsukaiban) recognizable by the typical centipede mon, around him his personal insignia.

The command base consists of a modified Steel Fist miniature used to reproduce Takeda Shingen while the other miniatures are from Perry Miniatures.

Takeda Shingen’s miniature has been modified in several parts but the most visible is the replacement of the katana with the Tessen, the metal war fan used to defend itself.

The choice fell on this detail to commemorate the epic clash between General Takeda and his archenemy Uesugi Kenshin.

The war banner carries the phrase Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan (wind, forest, fire, mountain), “Swift as the wind, silent as a forest, fierce as fire and immovable as a mountain” taken from “The art of war ”by Sun Tzu.

This sentence echoed the spirit of the Japanese leader’s military strategy based on continuous cavalry attacks interspersed with ashigaru.
